And as the world went into lockdown a few weeks later, readers started sending photos of themselves and the novel. Lynton published these alongside their stories - how they were coping, pivoting their livelihoods etc - in newsletters and on social media. Inspired by these, more readers responded. Now there is an ever-growing collection of Reader Stories from around the world.
